There are some of the trends you can look forward to in 2018.
If you thought you’d seen the last of pastels and floral prints in 2017, you were wrong.
Taking cues from the Lakmé Fashion Week Summer Resort 2018, which ran from January 31 to February 4 in Mumbai, here are the top fashion trends you can look forward to this year.
Ruffles, ruffles everywhere. Ruffles of all shapes, sizes and textures dominated the Lakmé Fashion Week scene. Designers like Anamika Khanna, Shriya Som and Punit Balana are among those who incorporated the wavy additions to their designs. This age-old design element has made a big comeback in Indian fashion this year.
2. Ivory bridal
Brides, take a hint. If you plan to tie the knot this year, an ivory coloured bridal wear should be one of your top choices if you want to be seen as keeping up with trends. Designers like Anita Dongre, Anushree Reddy, Payal Singhal as well as Meera and Muzaffar Ali were among those to design ethereal-looking ivory bridal wear this season.
It isn’t time to put in your silver sneakers or gold jacket in the attic just yet. Gold, silver, green: whatever the colour, as long as it reflects lights, it is in.
4. Floral prints and embroidery
If you though 2018 was the year florals would take a backseat, you were wrong. Florals show no sign of slowing down. Although the bold look of yesteryears seems to be replaced in a finer, more elegant, mode.
6. Pastels and nudes
Labels like GoCoop, North East Mojo, The World of Tencel, Khanijo were among those to feature designs in earthy tones and pastels. Nude tones were also prominent in the works of Anamika Khanna.
